چکیده

Magnetic resonance is a wrell known tool for the investigation of atomic and molecular motions in solids and a large amount of work has been done in the past on this subject by studies of Zeeman (Ty/J spin-lattice relaxation time and dipolar line widths {To). More recently, the power of the NMR method has been still considerably improved bv the mea surements on rotating frame1,2 Tls and dipolar (jTh)) relaxation rates which are particularly sensi tive to extremely slowT spin motions in solids. This last method, together with conventional 7\z and To measurements is applied in this paper for the detection of slowr vacancy diffusion in mono crystals of CaFo and NaF. Detailed information about typical quantities like the activation enthalpy for vacancy diffusion and the formation energy of defect pairs is obtained.

Producing low fluorine mold powder by replacing CaF2 with Na2CO3, ZnO and Fe2O3

Mold powders in continuous casting of steel contain fluorine through mainly CaF2 and occasionally NaF and Na3AlF6. Fluorine develops dangerous gases such as SiF4 and HF at high temperatures. In this study, CaF2 is partly replaced by substances such as Na2CO3, ZnO and Fe2O3.Sulfur free Portland cement clinker containing gypsum was used as a new product base. These additions developed comparable ...

Fluoride rinse effect on retention of CaF2 formed on enamel/dentine by fluoride application.

Calcium fluoride-like materials ("CaF2") formed on dental surfaces after professional fluoride application are unstable in the oral environment but can be retained longer with a daily NaF mouthrinse. We tested the effect of twice daily 0.05% NaF rinses on the retention of "CaF2" formed on enamel and dentine after applying acidulated phosphate fluoride (APF). "CaF2" formed on enamel/dentine by A...

Fluoride varnishes with calcium glycerophosphate: fluoride release and effect on in vitro enamel demineralization.

The aims of this study were (1) to assess the amount of fluoride (F) released from varnishes containing calcium glycerophosphate (CaGP) and (2) to assess the effect of the experimental varnishes on in vitro demineralization. Six test groups using 5 varnishes: base varnish (no active ingredients); Duraphat® (2.26% NaF); Duofluorid® (5.63% NaF/CaF2); experimental varnish 1 (1% CaGP/5.63% NaF/CaF2...

The Spin Lattice Relaxation of the Nuclear Dipolar Energy in Some Organic Crystals with Slow Molecular Motions

The relaxation of nuclear dipolar energy to the lattice has been measured in three different organic solids (benzene, cyclohexane and hexamethylbenzene) as a function of temperature. In the cases of C6H8 and C 6 (CH 3 ) 6 very slow motions associated with rather high activation energy were detected near the melting point. They are thought to be thermally activated rotations of the molecules abo...

Effects of cholesterol or gramicidin on slow and fast motions of phospholipids in oriented bilayers ("F NMR/nuclear spin-lattice relaxation/rotating-frame relaxation/molecular motions/difluorodeuterated phospholipid)

Nuclear spin-lattice relaxation both in the rotating frame and in the laboratory frame is used to investigate the slow and fast molecular motions of phospholipids in oriented bilayers in the liquid crystalline phase. The bilayers are prepared from a perdeuterated phospholipid labeled with a pair of 'IF atoms at the 7 position of the 2-sn acyl chain. Phospholipid-cholesterol or phospholipid-gram...
